Thrifted Finds - Spring 2019

I love shopping second hand! It’s a great way to prevent things from going to a landfill, save money, and you often find unique and older pieces. All things I love! Here are a few treasures I found over the last couple of months.

I got this piece at Savers for 5 bucks! It is in great condition and reminds me of some peachy-pink chairs my grandma used to have.

Right now I have this in a corner of my bedroom. It is a sweet little reading spot!

I don’t actually have a place for this mirror so it is just sitting on the floor but I know I love this style and will have a place for it in our next home. It was $10 also at Savers.

While it looks old and victorian, i think it was actually designed and made in the 60’s.

This find from Goodwill was $6. I had been looking for some loafers for work, and these fit the bill! I’ve had them for several weeks and have worn them in a bit at this point. You can see the tops creasing where my foot bends. At the point of purchase, though, they looked brand new. The sole is genuine leather, I’m not sure about the rest of the shoe.

These were a little outside of my comfort zone when I first looked at them, but I am so glad I got them for $3.50!

They are made from genuine leather and spice up my wardrobe which is quite bland and lacking in color.

Of course a plant had to be included. I love this handmade ceramic pot. I think it was around 2 or 3 dollars. This is wheel thrown in one piece! I love the design and have been practicing this in the studio. I’ve got a ways to go, but it has been fun to work on.

While I love thrifting, I don’t want to just buy things because they are cheap. I want to carefully consider what value they will add to my life and my home. Looking back on the recent treasures, I’m not sure both pairs of shoes were necessary, but I am still learning. There are a lot of tricks and tips I used to help me to decide what to buy. Keep an eye out for more on that on the blog in the future!
